Set in Minneapolis The Man in the Blizzard chronicles the routines of investigator Augie Boyer.  He’s out of sorts, divorced and smokes too much weed.  It’s the eve of the Republican National Convention and he’s suddenly investigating more than he bargained for when a beautiful woman walks through the door.  Gorgeous references to the Walker, the Hungry Mind and other Minneapolis places make me grin and read slowly.  When I want fiction that is in-depth and tired of genre cookie cutter, there’s no one better than Bart Schneider.  LA Carlson
